Ye Olde Cock Tavern, London

Our tour group of 39 teens and seven chaperones stopped off at Ye Olde Cock Tavern on Fleet Street in London for dinner one night. The goal was to have a traditional English dinner of bangers and mash. The stop was arraigned by the tour company and when we got there we noted that there were two other groups of our size already there and it was very crowded inside as a result. We were seated right away as we were expected. It looked nice from the outside, and had character on the inside, like a good place to knock back a few pints, but we were chaperoning so that was not a good idea.

They brought us our meal which consisted of two flavorless (flavourless for my British audience) sausages stuck into a pile of instant, tasteless, mashed potatoes. Terrible food combined with poor, unpleasant service. I was hoping this wasn't indicative of traditional English food. Thankfully it wasn't as I'd found better in town. You should find better too and stay away.
