This is one of my all time favorites. Beef, lamb and chicken on french fries with a small Greek salad. Pita and taziki sauce on the side. All for under twelve bucks. I recommend you have a bottle of Mythos beer with it.
Okay, there are many restaurant review blogs out here in cyber-space, but this one is a bit different. First, there won’t be any reviews of five-star or Michellin rated restaurants here, unless I accidently walk into one. Most reviews will be of burger places, brewpubs, and Italian and Chinese restaurants. Chains will be reviewed by location, as will locally owned restaurants. My reviews are of simple food at places regular people go.
The primary region is the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York, that’s where I live and eat. I do travel quite a bit though, so there will be reviews from all over, Chicago, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, New Orleans, and a whole lot more.
My qualifications? I grew up in a restaurant. I like to cook. I like to eat. If you saw a full picture of me, you'd understand that last one. Never trust a skinny cook, or a skinny food critic. Besides, life is too short to eat crappy food. My wife and I go out at least twice a week. We have our favorite places and sometimes we try someplace new. When we do we often enjoy it, but sometimes we say, “Cross that place off our list.”
I want to pass on what I like, and warn you if I don't like something. But take what I say as what it's worth, simply my opinions. You may disagree, and please let me know if you do by posting a comment. You can post a comment if you agree with me too. Bon appetite!
